Dearest F109 Families,
Welcome to Kindergarten at Ho‘okele Elementary School! My name is Kristen Maehara and I will be your child's Kindergarten teacher for this 2019-2020 school year. I graduated from University of Hawaii at Manoa with a degree in Elementary Education. This is my fifth year teaching at Ho‘okele and prior to that, I have taught for six years at Kapolei Elementary. It has been a great experience being a part of Ho‘okele opening its doors five years ago, and watching how much we have grown as a school and community.
Kindergarten is going to be the foundation of your child’s school experience. This is exciting for both students and teachers as it is a time of new beginnings, friends, challenges, accomplishments, and responsibilities. This will be a year of learning, reaching countless milestones, and lots of fun!
It is important that we all work together as a team in order to help your child succeed.
